Tidewater Brittany Club’s designated specialty was held on Saturday, May 23, 2015, in conjunction with Langley Kennel Club.  The Memorial Day Cluster, held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center, Hampton, Virginia, included four days of shows hosted by Langley and Virginia Beach Kennel Club.

Ms. Terry Hilliard did a fine job of judging our sweepstakes, selecting  Sigbrit’s Grand Slam as Best in Puppy Sweepstakes and Sigbrit’s See No Evil as Best of Opposite, both owned by Bobbie Sigmund and Jeffrey Currier.    From our Sweepstakes Veterans, she chose GCh Dogwood Hollow Bengal Zero Zero, owned by J and Aaron Burlingame and Geri Clements, as Best.  Ch Canipat Happy Belle De Kstar, JH owned by Kathy Shannon, was Best of Opposite Sex.

Brian Meyer then took over to judge the classes, non-regulars, and Best of Breed competition. Winners Dog was Sigbrit’s Grand Slam and reserve went to Dogwood Hollow Woodland Spirit, owned by Frank Watters, Geri Clements and Cheryl Mika.

Mr. Meyers tapped Wild Mtn’s ShakeYaGrooveThing, owned by Helen Riggle, and Linda , Roy, and Kristyn McCartney, as Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex over two bitch specials for a 4 point major. Brigadier’s Molly’s Little Dolly, owned by Albert and Gloria Stellwag and Page Giebel, was reserve.

Gch Dogwood Hollow Bengal  Zero Zero again distinguished himself by winning Best of Breed.  The ten-year-old veteran, as spry as a young dog, went on to a Group 4.  He followed this with a group 2 on Sunday.

GCh Labyrinth N Illusion Slippery When Wet, JH owned by Karen Hanson, competing out of the Hunting Dog Class, was honored with Select Dog and Best Owner Handled Dog, later placing second in the Owner Handled Group. Select Bitch was GCh Dogwood Hollow Irish Blessing, owned by Gary and Geri Clements and Cheryl Mika.

After breed competition, Kathy Shannon exhibited her brood bitch Ch. Canipat Happy Belle de KStar, with her two offspring.

We extend special gratitude to Ms. Terry Hilliard who traveled from Pennsylvania to overlook our sweepstakes dogs.

We were pleased to offer our exhibitors a spacious venue with reserved prime grooming space complete with electrical hookups, generously provided by Langley.  With proximity to Langley AFB, historic Fort Monroe, and beautiful beaches, the Convention Center was the perfect location for a Memorial Day visit. We thank all who supported our entry and hope you were able to enjoy some of the special attractions in the area.  And we hope to see you back next year.
